Hootsuite authentication

Prerequisites​

Depending on the authentication type you select, you need one of the following credentials:

  • OAuth 2.0 Authorization code: your Hootsuite account's email and password.
  • Bring your own OAuth 2.0 app: client ID and client secret.

Add the Hootsuite connection​

To create a connection to your Hootsuite instance, you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Select Orchestrator from the product launcher.
  2. Select a folder, and then navigate to the Connections tab.
  3. Select Add connection.
  4. To open the connection creation page, select the connector from the list. You can use the search bar to find the connector.
  5. You can choose between two authentication types: OAuth 2.0 Authorization code or Bring your own OAuth 2.0 app.
  6. Enter the required credentials and select Connect.

Privileges and permissions​

The app asks for your permission to:

  • Create and manage social network posts
  • Manage your Hootsuite users and teams
  • View interactions between your social profiles and others

When creating a connection via Hootsuite, you must allow the application to view and manage information in accordance with the following privileges and permissions:

  • The required token scope is "offline".
