Roles and permissions

The Roles and permissions required to build, deploy, run, and manage the IXP models of Extract nodes in UiPath Maestro™ Flow.

Access to the IXP models of Extract nodes is managed in two places:

  • In Studio Web, for building and evaluating the model in the Flow project that contains the Extract node.
  • In Orchestrator, through permissions, for running, deploying, and managing the models.

Access in Studio Web

You build the model of an Extract node in the Flow project that contains the node. To work on the model, you need the following access in Studio Web:

  • One of the following Studio Web roles, which allow you to design and run projects:

    • Studio Web Administrator
    • Studio Web Contributor - by default, this is assigned to the Everyone user group. For details, check Managing access to Studio Web.
    • Organization Template Author
  • Access to the Flow project. If another user owns the project, the owner must share it with you:

    • Can edit - You can make changes to the project, including the Extract node.
    • Can view - You can open and inspect the project, but you cannot make changes to it.
Note:

Only one user can edit a shared project at a time. While a user edits the project, the project is locked for other users.

Design-time permissions in Orchestrator

The following table shows the Orchestrator permissions required when you build and evaluate the model in an Extract node. Assign these permissions to users through roles in Orchestrator. For details, check Managing roles.

Required permissionAction
Jobs.ViewStart an extraction run, for example, when you debug the node or run an evaluation.
Jobs.ViewView the results of an extraction run.

Runtime permissions in Orchestrator

The following table shows the Orchestrator permissions required to deploy, run, and manage the models of Extract nodes. Assign these permissions to users through roles in Orchestrator. For details, check Managing roles.

Required permissionsAction
SolutionDeployments.CreateDeploy a model, by deploying the Flow solution that contains the Extract node.
SolutionDeployments.CreateUpgrade a deployed model, by deploying a new version of the Flow solution.
IXPModels.ViewView deployed models and their extraction runs.
IXPModels.Delete or SolutionDeployments.DeleteDelete a deployed model.
IXPModels.View and Jobs.CreateStart an extraction run with a deployed model. At runtime, you can start an extraction only from a flow or from activities that call the Extract node.
IXPModels.View and Logs.View, for tracesView the results of extraction runs, for example, to annotate document results in Validation Station.
IXPModels.View and Jobs.EditStop an extraction run.
