Healthcare Solutions user guide
Review an AI-generated clinical summary to verify its accuracy against the source medical record, then approve, reject, or override sections as needed. Opening a summary in the Clinical Review queue automatically transitions it to Review started status and assigns the review to you.
Prerequisites
- You have access to the Medical Record Summarization application.
- You are a member of the MRSReviewer local group in Automation Cloud and have been assigned as a reviewer for the relevant template.
- At least one summary is available in the Clinical Review queue with Ready or Review started status.
If the template creator doesn't assign any reviewers, all members of the MRSReviewer local group can see the output in the review queue.
Open a summary for review
-
Select Clinical review in the left navigation sidebar.
-
Use the Status filter to select Ready to display summaries that have not yet been opened by any reviewer.
-
Select the row for the summary you want to review.
The review detail view opens. The status in the header changes to Review started, confirming that the review is now assigned to you.
Review the AI-generated summary
The left panel displays the AI-generated summary organized into the sections defined by the template. The right panel displays the source PDF.
Each data point in the summary includes a citation marker. In normal view, the marker shows a plain page number (for example, [3]); selecting it navigates the PDF viewer to that page. When Override edit mode is active for a section, the marker format changes to [p. PAGE|N], where PAGE is the source document page and N is the occurrence on that page. Citation markers are not clickable while Override edit mode is active.
To verify a claim:
-
Locate a citation marker (for example, [3]) next to a data point in the summary.
-
Select the citation marker.
Result: The PDF viewer in the right panel navigates to the corresponding page in the source document.
-
Repeat for each citation you want to verify.
Approve a summary
Approved and Rejected are terminal states and cannot be undone. Once a summary reaches either status, the output (including the original AI-generated summary and any reviewer overrides) is available in the MRS2_Output entity in Data Fabric for use in downstream workflows. See MRS output data.
If the AI-generated content is accurate and complete, select Approve in the header.
Result: The summary status changes to Approved and the record is removed from the active review queue.
Reject a summary
If the summary is inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unsuitable, select Reject in the header.
Result: The summary status changes to Rejected. The record is flagged and may be reprocessed depending on your organization's workflow configuration.
Override a section
Override a specific section when its AI-generated content needs correction before you can approve the summary. Each section in the summary has its own Override button, so you can override individual sections without affecting others.
-
Locate the section that requires correction.
-
Select Override on the section.
The section enters edit mode: the content becomes directly editable, and a Reason for override dropdown and a Feedback for the agent text area appear below it.
-
Edit the section content directly to correct the AI-generated text.
-
Select a reason from the Reason for override dropdown.
Reason Use when Incorrect information The AI generated a factually wrong value or statement Missing information Relevant information from the source document was not included Outdated information The AI used information that has been superseded by more recent content in the record Formatting/clarity The content is accurate but poorly structured or difficult to read Incorrect attribution A finding is cited to the wrong source page or passage Safety concern The section contains content that could affect clinical decision-making adversely Other The issue does not fit the categories above -
Optionally, enter additional context in the Feedback for the agent field. This free-text note is included in the override record and used by the AI analysis to generate improvement recommendations for the template author.
-
Select Save.
Result: The override is recorded for that section, including any text edits you made. You can override additional sections before approving.
-
When all necessary sections have been overridden, select Approve in the header to complete the review.
Result: The summary is approved with the overrides recorded. The override data is visible to the template author in the Overrides tab of the template detail view.
