DNS settings not honored by CoreDNS
Description
When RKE2 is deployed, if the host's /etc/resolv.conf file contains a multicast or link-local IP address as a DNS server, RKE2 does not honor the file. Instead, CoreDNS is configured to use the default public DNS server 8.8.8.8.
Solution
To address the issue, you must pass the host's /etc/resolv.conf file through the cluster_config.json configuration. For details, refer to Passing custom resolv.conf.
