Studio user guide
Mozilla's root certificate for Firefox versions older than v128 (or v115.13 ESR) expired on March 14, 2025. As a result, the UiPath browser extension cannot be installed on Firefox v65 or earlier, regardless of the workaround described on this page. This page is retained for historical reference only.
Recommended action
Upgrade your Firefox browser to v128 or later (or v115.13 ESR or later) to continue using the UiPath browser extension. If you are on an older version of Firefox and cannot upgrade directly to v128+, refer to Extension on Firefox versions older than v128 or v115.13 ESR for guidance specific to your Firefox version.
Historical guidance
The content below describes the original error and the guidance that was previously provided for Firefox versions 65.0 and lower. The guidance in Solution 2 relied on a Mozilla signing certificate that expired on March 14, 2025, and is no longer valid.
Description
Mozilla introduced an extension signing verification algorithm in Firefox, which disables add-ons for Firefox version 65.0 and lower. As such, if you install the UiPath Extension for Firefox on the browser version 65.0 or lower, the following error message is displayed:
This add-on could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt.
Solution 1
Update Firefox to version v66.0.4 or higher.
Solution 2
Starting with Studio 2020.8, the Firefox extension is newly signed and it should be properly installed on older versions of the Firefox browser.
