October 2026 release notes for Delegate.
October 22, 2026
Version 1.6.9 is bundled in UiPath Assistant latest build 2026.0.204 (Windows and macOS).
New features
- Delegate plan mode:
/planhas the agent draft a plan for your review, then track it as a task list. - Agent questions in the message box: answer with a choice or your own words, or skip them.
- Import conversations: bring in chats from Claude Code, Claude Cowork, or Codex from Settings > General and continue them.
- Automations in chat: the agent finds, installs, and runs automations from UiPath Assistant; pick one from the / or + menu.
- New models: Claude Sonnet 5.5, GPT-6 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna are available, and Claude Opus 5.5 replaces Claude Opus 5 and 4.8, including saved choices.
- Recording exclusions: apps and websites you list in Settings > Privacy are left out of screen recordings and their screenshots.
- Delegate live app preview: in Native Background mode on Windows or background mode on macOS, the side panel shows the app Delegate is using; Show in foreground brings it forward.
- Delegate background mode (macOS only): In the background works in desktop apps as well as websites. The Web only option is removed, and its users move to In the background.
Improvements
- Model policy settings: Automation Ops allows each new model by default; if you blocked Claude Opus 5 or 4.8, also turn off Claude Opus 5.5 there.
- Smart mode default: new installs use Smart mode, which approves actions the model judges safe. Upgrades keep their mode; change it in Settings > Security.
- Restricted access drive and disk grants: whole-drive grants on Windows and whole-disk grants on macOS, including your organization's, stop applying; grant specific folders in Settings > Security, or in Automation Ops for organization grants.
- Restricted access external drives (Windows only): folders on USB, SD, and other external drives are reachable only while Removable storage is on, in Settings > Security.
- Subagents: helper agents for parts of a task run alongside the main agent, report in the chat, and ask for approvals there.
- Accessibility: screen readers read each reply when it finishes, and schedules, date pickers, and dialogs work by keyboard.
- Delegate long text entry: Delegate pastes long text into apps in one step and restores your clipboard; Pause and Stop work mid-typing.
- PowerPoint revisions: revising a deck updates the original file in place and keeps its design.
- PowerPoint long tables (Windows only): long tables fit on the slide when the agent revises a deck.
- Word documents (macOS only): Word documents the agent creates open without an update-fields prompt.
Bug fixes
- Links in chat: web, email, Slack, and code-editor links open, and a link to a program opens its folder. Other links, such as Teams links, do not open.
- Messages and attachments: a message sent during a pending approval is delivered, and the agent keeps earlier attachments.
- Restricted access blocked paths (macOS only): shell commands the agent runs can no longer reach a path you blocked inside an allowed folder.
- Delegate schedules per account: a schedule runs and shows only for the UiPath user, organization, and tenant that created it.
- Delegate routine schedules: earlier versions could delete schedules on routines installed with a plugin. Check those routines in Routines and add back any missing schedules.
- Broader stability work: fixes for the offline banner, image formats, unsent drafts, and web pages.
- Windows only: strict PowerShell policies and machines without a separate .NET.
- macOS only: multiple displays and recording performance.

Version 1.6.9 is bundled in UiPath Assistant latest build 2026.0.203 (Windows).
macOS DMG installer
Delegate is now available on macOS through a DMG installer for Apple Silicon (arm64) machines. The DMG installer doesn't auto-update — download and install the latest DMG manually to move to a newer version. For the download link and installation steps, see Installation.
New features
- Restricted access, formerly Guarded mode: Settings > Security and each project share one panel for folders, blocked paths, and approvals.
- More Automation Ops policies: administrators can enforce Restricted access, choose where new tasks are stored, and limit telemetry destinations.
- Stronger models for agents: a picker switch lets agents use a more capable model than their chat.
- Settings and skills in Search: find a setting or bundled skill by name or description and open it.
Improvements
- Long conversations: large sessions open faster, and the window stays responsive while you work in them.
- Long-running commands: the agent can start a command, keep working, read its output as it runs, and stop it.
- Command approval cards: a shell command waiting for approval shows the agent's steps above the exact script.
- Accessibility: screen readers announce tool status, window controls, tables and the message box, and dialogs return keyboard focus.
- Interface refinements: redesigned Knowledge and MCP servers pages, project settings in the sidebar, and Show more in Recents.
Bug fixes
- Delegate web automation: opening another page in its browser, the agent acts only in the tab it created, not one you had open.
- Automation Ops tool policies: Clipboard, ImageGeneration, RefreshConnections, and Gmail Delete message settings now apply; set them again to enforce them.
- Filtered deletions under Restricted access: PowerShell deletions remove only matching items and preview runs change nothing; earlier Guarded mode builds could remove more.
- Connection handling: sign-in appears sooner when you are signed out, and a dropped internet connection keeps you signed in.
- Large file attachments: the window keeps working when you attach a large file.
- Broader stability work: fixes across license messages, session approvals, saved settings, text file encodings, network stalls, lifecycle hooks, and follow-up suggestions.
